It’s now known by now that dogs feel our energy. This is good news and bad news all at the same time. Your dog is constantly speaking to you through their body language, their barking and the energy that they give you. Ask yourself when you are with your dog.
Am I in a rush? (Why won’t this dog pee already)
Am I being pressured to do something I really don’t want to be doing?
(It’s raining outside, and yet again this dog has to be walked).
Why did I get this dog in the first place? (Was this an impulse buy? Is it too late to return him?)
Well if those are the lovely messages you are thinking in your head. It doesn’t take a genius to know why your dog is suddenly acting out like a rebellious 16 year old who doesn’t understand why his older sister gets to drive the only car they have to share. :)
They can’t talk to us, but we know instinctually what they are feeling. Because that’s how we are feeling at that moment.
Here are some quotes that I always keep in the front of my head while being around animals (especially dogs).
"Listen to the silence"- Cesar Millan
“Calm assertive energy”- Cesar Millan
Your Dog is your mirror” – Kevin Behan
“Once you have your dog’s eyes, you have your dog” -Zac George.
“The moment you completely accept your non-peace becomes, your non peace becomes transmuted into peace.” -Eckhart Tolle (Not a dog trainer).
.
So next time, you are with your dog. Take a few deep breaths. Think of a positive thought. Hold the thought in your head take 3 deep breaths in and 3 deep breaths out. Hold the imagine in your head, until you feel it through your body. Your dog will thank you for it!
